Do you like clowns? I do. And I don’t. What I actually like is how much most people hate clowns, find them creepy and gross. I enjoy that so much! Their venom makes me laugh. I guess, in a way, I do like clowns, because without clowns people couldn’t despise clowns so exuberantly and then I’d not be able to laugh about that. I like to laugh. A lot.

.The absurd mix of horror and humor always makes me bust a gut..

BabyStinky_smallCase in point: The thing in this photo is called “The Baby Stinky Doll.”
I bought this ass-faced clown at a gift shop. Like any proud mother, I immediately showed it off to all my friends. They were repulsed. But were they really? If I showcased Stinky while any of them were drunk they’d laugh uproariously! I was tempted to keep my pals as inebriated as possible.

But hey, what’s the deal? Do people have to be drunk to tap back into the kind of humor we all had as kids? As a kid, all it took was a booger on a string to keep us riveted for hours. As a kid, hocking a loogie was a prime entertainment option. As a kid, cutting the cheese was an LOL orgy.

I don’t want to SEO up the place with passing gas and snot-dangle keywords, but if the truth hurts, then poke into it.

I wonder at what age does our humor mature and why? And what happened to me? Why am I still laughing? Does it really make me immature to continue laughing at gross stuff?

Don’t get me wrong, I like to laugh at snotty intellectual humor too, tons of it, but the visceral hoots over gross and silly, I’ve never let it go. Yet I manage to succeed in adult activities like: grocery shopping, keeping a job and breaking up with my lovers via email.
I don’t want to let go of the gross laughs. Have you let go? If so, why?

I liken laughing at gross shit to saying fuck and other cuss words. There is a time and place for everything, unless it happens anyway. Why fight it? And yes, clowns scare me. I don't trust what is underneath the make up and clown suit. I don't understand clowns. I should understand clowns. Oh fuck, now I have something else to do that doesn't pay well. You Tina, are not a clown to me, but I will laugh at you if you're gross. ox

Awesomian! I suspect what's under the clown suit and make-up too.
I hope I never have to find out! As far as we know it could be anyone and anything and with my luck it'd be my crazy Uncle Larry.

Thanks for the laughter and the shared love of “the gross humor”! Oh and for winning this contest. Ha!!
Cheers Jenny!
