I’ve decided pie charts found via Google images can be uplifting. Even though I don’t know what the chart below is going on about, it sure feels like a great deal of time and effort went into making it. My mother often said, “Hard work should always be appreciated.”
I agree.
Their questionable label:
is not as decisive as I’d like, but our futures are open ended.
No need to close the door on life’s vast array of possibilities. Thus a “question mark” doesn’t really detract from the greater good.
All regions listed are real places and that’s reassuring. I’ve been to Europe and Asia. I think the blue and red colors they’ve chosen suit those continents perfectly. North America seems to be doing quite well on this chart. I live in the USA, so this is good news for me and every other American citizen.
I think.
I also found this one:
This graphic alarmed me. It appears 30% of the people owe money but 35% are paying for it.
I’m worried I might be one of the people paying for it and that causes me a great deal of stress.
I prefer this chart below.
It has endless possibilities. It’s kind of pretty and gives the imagination something to work with. I switched the orange color to a purple color. That felt more organic to me. Can you imagine the cool percentages you could add to this chart?

Color me impressed! This all seems very mathematically sound and just the sort of thing I should spend time delving into. Now you've got me worried that I'm part of the 30 percent who's paying for the 35 percent who isn't paying. Story of my life. Thanks Christina for introducing me to the New Math all over again, this time with pictures.
This reminds me of work, Tina. I feel uneasy about those charts!

That could be a chart about the things in the world that people are in agreement with!
but I like how Tina used them as a projective tool to express her creativity!!
)
I love the concept!
Forget the Rorschach test – from now on we will be using Pie Charts!
THIS IS FUCKING FUNNY!

I can imagine if you use pie charts all day it can become a pain. Sorry for the extra stress
Thanks Paolo! Let's not throw out the Rorschach test just yet. We can probably replace that with something more glamorous. Let's put our heads together.
Jeffers I fear you may very well be “part of the 30 percent who's paying for the 35 percent who isn't paying” -wait, what? Let me look at the chart again… After second look I am certain you're paying for it! But since you live in North America it's all good.
Can i have some coffee with my pie chart? I'm not only scared of Product ?, I'm now craving bourbon pecan pie. I wonder if I need to pay for that or if it's covered in the 35% who pay for the 30% who don't pay for their pie. Oh my… forget the pie, just give me the bourbon. You are a treat better than any pie, Tina
I am not sure you can deduce from the first chart that N America is doing well, after all it shows that more North Americans are buying a product when they don't know what it is! S Americans on the other hand seem to be very sure that they are not going to buy something they are not sure of. All goes to show the value of your average Pie Chart I suppose and proves your case.
I like your version much better anyway, can I have one to hang on my wall?
Tony

Oh my, thanks for putting a smile on face before the caffeine's even had a chance to kick in, T.
Your humor is wicked. Wicked funny you.
I've decided Product ? = Tampons.
Australia fares poorly on this chart. And as tampons in Australia are considered a luxury item, which means we get to pay a lovely value tax on it, I am sure of this. Surely North America would not charge the menstruating population for well, menstruating, which would explain why their population appears to be gorging themselves on Tampons.
The last chart looks like god's pie chart to me. An entire pie on a big wedge of purple? Tell me that's heaven, please.
I only liked that Picasso Pie Chart at the bottom; the other ones all had numbers that I think were trying to convince me that everything adds up in some sort of rational manner that would be reassuring if it did, but I've been around too long to buy that. In any event I DO prefer the pie to other charts, and according to 'The Onion' they are the most popular charts in the ol' US of A (they probably dig something more chic in Europe-Le Tarte Chart?).
Aha, a Brit comes and debunks North America's pie chart supremacy! I knew it would happen
Tony I like your assessment. *funny*
Elizabeth, I like that. We call all disagree on that!
Aaron, the Picasso Pie sounds delicious. Probably causes stomach trouble though by twisting up the guts.
I agree that the numbers are potentially false and meant to discombobulate us into believing that sheep
are bulls. Wait is that what you said?
Karen, always have your coffee before your pie charts. The “period” pie smells kind of fishy to me.
Does OZ really high tax the pontoons? That's absurd. I will NOT be visiting Australia once a month.
Jeanne,
“I wonder if I need to pay for that or if it's covered in the 35% who pay for the 30% who don't pay for their pie.”
Hilarious!
I heart pie charts: http://bt.io/FeIU

Christina, I find YOU credible, but the average person even tells me a “bull” is a bull and I remain a bit skeptical. It could be a yak with a buzz-cut, or more likely a cow with some work frontin' a macho attitude. What can I say? I live in NYC-where men are men…. and a lot of the “women” are too!

I like numbers. Illustrating numbers with images so other people like them makes me happy.
I would like to see a pie chart on everyone's favorite pie. Pumpkin? Apple? Cherry? Boston Cream? Lemon Meringue? Or the Gilligan's Island classic, Coconut Cream. I know they had an endless supply of coconuts on that island. I don't remember seeing the cows.
My apologies for commenting two weeks late.
